AMNH is Still Open

No furloughs at the American Museum of Natural History and I made sure.

I dare you to walk the trail.

What a view, haha.

Pilgrims: "First we get the food then we kill them."

Natives: "Will give them some food and then they'll leave us alone..."

In Memorium

Tickle fight!

Bison have horns while Pronghorns do not, they have pronghorns completely different.

Yellow Trees: The Whitney

Last year The Whitney Museum had an exhibition by Yayoi Kusama and wrapped a building. In New York City there are dozens if not hundreds of building with scaffolding. Some also have a protective wrap that can be decorated usually with ads. This one was at 345 West 14th Street and looked so wonderful in real life.

The Met's Classic: iPhone edition

Yes I posted about my Met trip before but now that I have an iPhone I stopped using my old camera. The camera pn the iPhone is great and thinner so it will be my default until I ever get a true DSLR.

Sure looking comfy in your seat.

Not much of a crowd.

Must have been a short monument.

Like my bathroom floor!

I so need change, do you think they would mind?

Moms have always been cool.

Books, I love books.

More cups because you can never have enough cups.

The Met's Classic

By that I mean The Metropolitan Museum of Art which has lots of ancient statues. during the last visit I went to some of the and remind everyone during their original use they were painted and never white stone.

It as a lovely summer's day as I walked up to The Met.

This dress was cute the colors were drab.
Must be a cup for wine from ancient alcoholics.

Must be a peaceful sleep.

Ancient life meet modern day cell phone worshipers.

So detailed and look at those balls...at the base holding it all up.

He died first and nobody bothered to update it for his wife.

"Lend me a hand I seem to have lost my head."

Intrepid Trip

Went to the U.S.S. Intrepid before the space shuttle landed. The space shuttle exhibit opens July 19 and I hope to go back and see it soon.

The U.S.S. Intrepid
And I was in the middle!
So which one is the door knob?
A plane with lipstick.
This is not a toy.
Planes on deck.
This one is big and black.
The front of the world's fastest plane.
Foreign fighter jet.
Folded helicopter.
Nice copter collection.
Army helicopter.
Beware of jets they bite so don't feed them any fuel.
So blue!
Good I can't wait to come back.
Odd shape I think it is to get wi-fi signals.
Touching it now will not play any video.
Look at the little people.
Got it I'm done with the Intrepid but there was more to see on the pier.

National September 11 Memorial & Museum

Visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum on a cold wintery day. The site is amazing but nothing compared to the way it was before 2001.

Reflecting pool
A few of the many names
Tossing coins is against the rules but many did anyway.
Waterfall
The tower being made.
Quiet day
The park is quite small.
The museum.
Big security gates.
Kiosks giving a face to the names.
Pennies get tossed at the base of the trees instead of the pools.
South Pool.
Commemorative bike.
